Exhibition Design

I have always had a love for art and museums, and after several years working as a licensed architect, I found my way to exhibition design, the perfect combination of my interests. While completing a Master’s Degree focused in Museum Studies, I worked at the Saint Louis Art Museum. Here I learned how to apply my architectural skills to a gallery setting. After graduation, I spent 7 years with Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art honing my exhibition design practice, becoming a key member of a highly collaborative visitor-focused team, and pushing boundaries of design in a museum setting. Since returning to St. Louis in 2021, I have been contracting with museums and institutions across the country.

Architecture

My design practice is grounded in architecture. While I love art and museums, all projects are creative problem solving for me. (Yes, I also love jigsaw and crossword puzzles.) Though I have been focused in exhibition design since 2013, I have maintained my national architectural registration and LEED certification, and I am currently licensed in Missouri. As a practicing architect for 18 years, I have experience with residential, retail, and education projects.

+

With my experience in architecture and exhibition design, I have developed a niche multi-faceted skill set. I understand accessibility requirements. I have served as a project manager on multiple projects and accounts. Budgets, schedules, building permitting, etc., you name it, I’ve done it. This combination of experience uniquely positions me to consult on museum construction projects.

With over a decade of experience in museums, I have also established a strong network of creative professionals. I am able to subcontract graphic designers, content specialists, and digital media experts.
